The large amounts of precipitation we received this past spring and winter have driven our flora and fauna to be simply amazing this year. I love to bring my camera with me wherever I go to give me a chance to really admire the beauty around me. Watching the huge migration of Painted Lady butterflies thru California on their way up to Oregon was mesmerizing. The migration along with the huge amount of butterflies that have graced us with their presence this year inspired me to make this necklace.
I accented this scene with a beautiful piece of jasper that I found on the beach on the central coast of California. I hand polished it, and found its individuality perfect for this piece.
