The California Red-Legged Frog used to be able to be found abundently throughout coastal regions of california but its numbers have since dwindled and it is now listed as a threatened species.  Overhunting in the past along with current habitat loss have made it difficult for this species to increase its numbers.  I made this statement necklace as a tribute to our threatened and endangered native species here in California that need our attention and our conservation efforts.
 
I found this gorgeous agate while hiking through the landscapes of Mojave Desert, Caifornia, cut it, hand polished it, and found it perfect to pair with this California Red-Legged Frog in this statement necklace.
 
I hand sawed this California Red-Legged Frog out of sterling silver and hand engraved it to add detail to this beautiful scene.
